Zak Sound recently launched the Orange Dreams 2 synth and sampler suite and the free Lite plugin version.

Orange Dreams 2 is a macOS and Windows plugin for VST3 and AU formats.

The full version of Orange Dreams 2 features three samplers and a versatile Waveform Synthesizer. It is currently available at an introductory price of $25.35, down from the list price of $39.

The free Orange Dreams 2 Lite edition features two samplers, one filter, the complete effects rack, and 22 presets. The Lite version does not have an expiration date.

Orange Dreams 2 Lite can be downloaded from the plugin product page, although you’ll need to create an account on the Zak Sound website to access the download.

Zak Sound describes Orange Dreams 2 as “your gateway to a world of smooth vibes and endless creativity.”

The developer adds the plugin is made for “creating chill beats that define genres like lofi, hip hop, jazz hop, and chill hop.”

Orange Dreams 2 is an updated and expanded version of the original Orange Dreams instrument plugin.

Zak Sound seems to have removed the original Orange Dreams release from its website, although you can still find it listed by other distributors online.

Orange Dreams 2 is split into four modules: the dual samplers (Sampler 1 and 2), Waveform Synthesizer, and Custom Sampler.

The dual samplers offer 93 instruments, covering territory from deep basses to airy synths, allowing you to “craft and layer sounds that are uniquely yours.”

The Waveform has nine classic waveforms like sine, triangle, saw, and square, providing you with some familiar building blocks to work with.

The Custom Sampler allows you to bring your own samples into the plugin, “allowing for endless combinations and new sonic possibilities.”

Like the instrument offerings, the effects rack in Orange Dreams 2 has been expanded.

The effects are intended to help producers nail an authentic vintage and lo-fi sound.

The effects on offer are a saturator, bit crusher, pitch mod, chorus, phaser, reverb, and delay.

There are also 19 effect sounds designed for “nostalgic environments”, such as rain, old electronics, and more.

Zak Sound has also included 140 presets with Orange Dreams 2, which offer a range of sounds from “ambient waves to gritty basslines and nostalgic tones.”

You can hear the plugin in action through several YouTube demos that Zak Sound has produced.
