‘I’ve been a Nespresso customer for over a decade and didn’t know this.’
A New York woman shared a life hack to get free coffee. According to her, pretty much every Nespresso store offers potential customers free lattes.
Jaeda (@jaeda_skye), an influencer who lives in New York City, shared the hack with her audience in a video with more than 526,000 views. In it, she said that most people can walk into any Nespresso store and get free coffee.
How Was Jaeda’s Experience?
Jaeda said in her video that she doesn’t have a coffee machine in New York City. So, she wanted to try getting a free cup from Nespresso. At the beginning of her video, she was walking to a location in the city.
When Jaeda arrived, she filmed her experience. She said the store has a variety of available machines and pods to try, and that it has a variety of milks and even offers ice to customers who want chilled beverages.
“They have a bunch of different machines and pods next to them, and you can make coffee with any of them,” she said. “You can really just walk in there, grab a capsule, and then make your own coffee.”
When she tried her first beverage, she said the coffee was “so good.”
The TikToker happened to go to the store while it was hosting a coffee masterclass, so she got another latte. She added that the second latte she received was “super delicious.”
“This is like my Disneyland,” the TikToker said.
Does Nespresso Actually Offer Customers Free Coffee?
Nespresso stores have tasting bars that offer potential customers free beverages and tastings. These tastings allow shoppers to try out different pods, whether they are seasonal picks or regular staples in the Nespresso lineup.
Tasting Table said “customers have had mixed experiences depending on the location,” but that employees are readily available to give shoppers recommendations. Most Nespresso locations offer customers the ability to taste certain coffees on request.
A reviewer who visited a New York City boutique said, “I bought a couple of choices, and they were good as I sampled them before buying. Relaxing setting to just chill as I walked all morning around NYC. It’s a welcome surprise. Definitely will be back when visiting the city.”
Additionally, most Nespresso locations host special events in-store. The events offer customers opportunities to try different coffees that may not normally be available at the tasting bar.
Is the Coffee Hack Real? Viewers Weigh In
A few viewers who saw Jaeda’s video said that the hack was a little too good to be true. A few viewers said that certain locations have caveats and don’t necessarily offer large lattes for free.
One viewer, who claimed to have previously worked at Nespresso, said the stores only offer tastings of the capsules. They added, “A lot of places do not offer milk anymore since covid and we’ve never offered ice, that was definitely her just being super nice, which can happen but don’t expect it. It’s mainly just espresso and sugar.”
Some commenters who saw Jaeda’s post also shared critiques of the hack. Some said they didn’t like the taste of Nespresso, while other commenters said they have had previous negative experiences at in-person locations.
Another viewer said, “But the punishment Is you end up with a nespresso coffee.”
“Everytime I go in to Nespresso it gives me anxiety bc they are so rude and I spent over $100 on coffee. I just order online bc they can’t be rude online,” another added.
One person even questioned Jaeda’s video and said it might be branded content. “I feel like this is undisclosed branded content. i think she was treated better bc she was invited to film. and her experience doesn’t match any of the comments,” they added.
AllHipHop reached out to Jaeda and Nespresso via email. This story will be updated if they respond.
