Pharrell has been the centre of a new controversy after Vans insinuated plagiarism on his part, soon after the musical maestro revealed the skate-inspired Louis Vuitton show. However, in midst of all the noise, there is also a lot of music coming out too.
At the most recent Louis Vuitton SS27 Fashion Show, Pharrell premiered new musical collaborations with some of new age hip hop’s finest artists — Lil Baby, Quavo & NBA YoungBoy. The songs served as sonic backdrops for the models at the LV show, as they walked over sand with an artificial waterfall like structure behind them.
Arguably, the one with NBA YoungBoy seems to be the most energetic of the three, and ‘Haavin’ with Quavo certainly seems to be the most catchy. Thematically, the one with Lil Baby with the bill like a glove, with the artist rapping about luxury brands and finer things in life, while also shouting out Pharrell saying “this beat came from Pharrell.” Check the snippets below!
